Mission

The threefold mission of Palm Beach Theater Guild, Inc is to preserve the historic, landmarked, John Volk- designed Royal Poinciana Playhouse in Palm Beach as a venue for the performing arts, to manage the Royal Poinciana Playhouse, and produce, co-produce, and book in productions and shows, and to provide regional subscription seasons of plays and musicals.

Goals

The Palm Beach Theater Guild, a 501 (c ) (3) not for profit corporation approved by the Internal Revenue Service and formed by local residents, will transition the Royal Poinciana Playhouse from a booking house for road shows to a regional subscription theater.  The Palm Beach Theater Guild will anchor its season –as well as serve an audience—by producing and presenting a subscription season of 4 to 6 plays and musicals show-casting well-known performers.  The Guild will also produce a summer musical.

            The Palm Beach Theater Guild will provide a performance venue for other cultural events, featuring dance, music, light opera, the occasional Broadway tryout, and other professional, university, and community attractions. The Guild will sponsor separate screenings and premieres of films for large audiences and screenings for smaller groups.

            The Palm Beach Theater Guild will manage the Celebrity Room (Poinciana Club) adjacent to the Theater for purposes of supporting the Theater and generating a significant ancillary revenue stream.

            Year round the Palm Beach Theater Guild will offer youth and children’s theater programs.  In the summer, the Guild will sponsor a young adult (age 16-28) theater training institute work-shopping new American book Musicals.
